• Reading Statistics from the Climate Control Unit: (Confirmed on a '99 C43)
  (This may only apply to after Jan. 9, 1995 models that have Automatic Climate Control.)
  1) Turn Ignition On. (If the motor is not running, you'll get many Intermittent/Temporary Faults.)
  2) Adjust temperature to 72°F/22°C (To quickly set the Climate Control Temperature to 72°, simultaneously press the UP and DOWN buttons.) - (In my '99, it doesn't matter what the temperature is.)
  3) Press [REST] button for more than 6 seconds.
  The number 01 initially appears on the left hand side of the display, then the interior compartment temperature is displayed.
  (The two will alternate until you press [+] to advance, or [REST] to end.)
  4) Display the next set by pressing [+] button.
  5) To end the readings, press [REST] button.

• Reading Error Codes from the Climate Control Unit: (Confirmed on a '99 C43)
  (This may only apply to after Jan. 9, 1995 models that have Automatic Climate Control.)
  1) Turn Ignition On, adjust temperature to LO, turn Ignition Off.
  2) Turn Ignition On, and within 20 seconds of motor running, press the [REST] and the [FRONT DEFROST] buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds. (LED in the [CIRCULATE] button flashes at 1 Hz., dl A appears on display.)
  3) Press [AUTO] button repeatedly until all faults have been read out. (This first batch are the Current/Permanent Faults.) End appears after the last Current/Permanent Fault is displayed.
  4) Press [AUTO] button again and dl °A appears on display and the fan symbol appears toward the right of the display.
  5) Press [AUTO] button repeatedly until all Intermittent/Temporary Faults have been read out. En°d appears after the last Intermittent/Temporary Fault is displayed.
  6) Press [AUTO] button again. dEL appears (delete, erase).
  7a) Not erasing: Press [AUTO] button to begin the fault read out sequence again.
  7b) Erasing: Simultaneously press the [UP] and [DOWN] temperature preselector buttons for more than 5 seconds. -- - will appear on the display.
  8) To end the readings, turn Ignition Off.
  (To quickly set the Climate Control Temperature to 72°, simultaneously press the UP and DOWN buttons.)
  (I'm told that clearing these codes will NOT reset the SRS light.)
